    Package & Deploy issue

    Hi,

I am in the middle of building a DB related program.

To show a fellow worker what it looks like so far I have compiled and make a setup using the package and deply wizard. However:

When he installs it the DB it's claims the DB is not there. When when he moves a copy of hte DB in to the folder it still claims the DB is not there and cannot connect. Any advice please?

    What DBMS? Perhaps Jet?

What OS is he using? Perhaps something modern supporting UAC?

Where are you deploying this database? Perhaps the application's Program Files subfolder?

He "moves a copy" hmm? What does this mean and why is he "moving" it, and where to?

    Thanks.

Both of us are using Windows 7.

Not sure what DMBS or Jet he has.

Think I have to try and work out what to do to get this wrong.

What kind of database and what kind of connection are you trying to make to it? If your connection string has a path in it is the path correct for the target system?

Thread moved to the 'Application Deployment' forum, which is where questions about installing/distributing your software belong
