ever heard of this guy?
So while over at my wife's relatives a few years back there was a guy there (not part of the family, but family friend). He seemed a little "odd", like in that wacky odd sort of way, not creepy weird odd.
Anyway, time passed, and I saw him a few more times at other family gatherings, but never gave it any thought.
Then one day, I am sitting there reading my recent copy of game informer magazine, when my wife says "Have you ever heard of some game called Morrowind or Oblivion??"
And of course I was like "Um yeah, they are only 2 of the most popular RPG games over the past several years, I have heard of them, why?"
She says "Well my brothers best friend, you know that guy who always is at the family events, well he made them".
So I am like "umm made them? what does that mean? those games are done by somewhat large teams of developers and artists and what not"
Anyway, turns out he is none other than Ken Rolston, and he actually did "make" them, because he was the lead game designer on both. What makes it pretty crazy, is about 2 minutes after this, as I flip through my game informer, there is an entire article/interview with none other than Ken Rolston... talk about timing..
Too bad he left there before skyrim, or I would be asking for a free copy

Re: ever heard of this guy?
It's all "mambo dogface to the banana patch" to me, but I'm not a gamer.

That's cool klienma.
It sure is a nice synchronicity isn't it?
These are the days for such.

You mis-spelt his name!!
Kleinma, that sure was something you missed and will miss for the rest of your life. Fortunately you might still be able to ask him for a free copy since you are likely to bump into him. Just make sure he doesn't visit this thread and know of your intentions.

Apologies to Kleinma for misspelling his name.

Re: ever heard of this guy?
I've got the same story for VB.NET, though in my case, it's a relative rather than a friend of one.

He did not design skyrim, he left Bethesda and works at a company called "Big Huge Games" which also does RPG style games.
This is his latest:

Yeah, that's one way to read it. Not saying more about it, though.

Nah, too much effort. Actually, I'd probably have to make a pun about it, and I can't think of one.
By the way, Skyrim is excellent for body-surfing the falls.
