I have written a database project in vb using an Access97 database but when I install and run it on a machine which does not have Ms Office installed, it opens (Shows up in task manager) but is not displayed on screen. Why is this ?
I have used the package and deployment wizard to create my setup and have added all the Jet files which it listed but it made no difference. Also, If I leave the file expsrv.dll checked during the wizard then I get an error while it tries to register it during the install. Is this related to my problem. This error seems to happen on every single machine I have tried to install my app on and the setup I made has been done after many re-installs of Win98 & 2000 pro.
Please help !

I don't know if I'm guessing right, but that problem occured me when I was using SAPI, It wouldn't work even though I had all the dll and ocx and all that other crap, the reason was that I didn't have a TEXT TO VOICE Engine to go with the program, you get that with MS AGENT, so what I'm guessing is that the other computer, simply doesn't have the DATABASE "Engine", because ACCESS is part of OFFICE, the program won't run unless you have ATLEAST ACCESS 97 (or if you can get the database engine) installed on the system.
