Before, you went to the Control Panel, then Find Fast. Delete all the indices there, and that should stop it. If there's anything in Startup, the registry Run section, or anything else, remove the references.

    I don't have a Find Fast
    I have a Fast
and FFastLog...I've killed both...I guess I should reboot and see if I can still get up

Let's try another direction. Go to http://www.sysinternals.com

There are two tools that help you find who's doing this. (Personally, I vote for McAfee or Norton Anti-Virus software)
Download filemon HandleEx also gives information about who has files open - if you have a page file problem, you may need this. But it doesn't show who is currently hitting the disk.

Filemon is easy to use. Every time there is an I/O to hard disk, it's shows you which process did the deed. While you're there, consider picking up some other tools.
