ASP to PHP
I've been writing ASP websites for years, and I wrote one for a friend who decided to move their site to a Linux server. I don't have any background in PHP, but I understand that ASP doesn't run on Linux.
I see that PHP is a language like C. Since I have no background in C, I'm guessing there's just no way I can easily convert this site. Is that right?

Re: ASP to PHP
No. But, if it's in pure ASP (and not ASP.NET) and isn't too big, it probably wouldn't be too much work. How big are we talking here?

Re: ASP to PHP
it's not that big, but I started looking into PHP last night and it's completely foreign to me.
I figured I could google each statement one by one and find the PHP counterpart, but Dreamweaver keeps saying "there is an error in your source code on line X and the debugger cannot continue until it is removed". I just figured I don't have the time or patience to learn this language that looks like C. I know I have Visual C++ in my tag, but I gave up on it a long time ago. I find VB to be so much easier.
Yes, it's pure ASP.

Re: ASP to PHP
Since you're not willing to take the time to learn PHP... sounds like you need to find someone else to convert the site to PHP.

Re: ASP to PHP
If you want, I can take a look at what you have and give you an estimate on how long it would take to convert. Send me a private message if you don't want to post it here.
