Record Sound From Sound Card / Wave Out
I am trying to record sound from my Sound Card / Wave Out. When I go to my Sound Settings then Recording, I don't see any options for Wave Out. I have 'Show Disabled Devices' and 'Show Disconnected Devices' enabled.
Here is a screen shot of my Sound > Recording dialog:

Re: Record Sound From Sound Card / Wave Out
go to your manufacturer's website and download an updated sound driver for your OS. This is a known issue with default driver for vista/7. You may want to check windows update first for "optional" updates. Sometimes the audio drivers will be there.

You need to enable it in the manufacturers software first, i had a similar problem when setting up audacity.

If you fail, try and try again, its the only way to success.

IDT does not give an option for Wave Out recording.

Re: Record Sound From Sound Card / Wave Out
It also depends on your hardware (the soundcard). If there is no hardware connection possible, the AD-convertor input to the AD-convertor output, then that option is not shown.
I'm afraid you need to try an other soundcard.

Re: Record Sound From Sound Card / Wave Out
How are you goin to record the sound from your 'wave out', if your using audacity or a program similar, its 'stero mix' you need to use rather than 'wave out'.
Recording 'stero mix' will record any sound that your pc makes, for example you can record the sound of a music video off youtube and save it as an mp3 so you have the track.

it's not always called stereo mix. It's sometimes called wave out. Read the other posts.
