Windows 7 issue - unable to open excel 2007 using VB 6.00 and third party control

    Hi,

We are using windows XP and VB 6.00 exe in whcih we have used Spread control and using its property we importing into excel and it is working fine.

But When we installed the same VB exe as administrator it installed and is working except imprt to excel option does not work. It is not giving any error. At one place it is opening ( we used object reference ) excel-2007 is opening but data is getting appending in the same file. Using our application in particular folder excel file is saved. This process is not fiunctioning properly.

Can any once guide us to solve this problem?

    Thanks in advance.

in vista and w7 you must use correct folders for user data, whereas in xp you could work with some folders that were not recommended for user data

it maybe that the control or your program require elevated privilages to work correctly

maybe you can recode to import the data without the control, or change the folders where the files are to be saved
i do my best to test code works before i post it, but sometimes am unable to do so for some reason, and usually say so if this is the case.
Note code snippets posted are just that and do not include error handling that is required in real world applications, but avoid On Error Resume Next

dim all variables as required as often i have done so elsewhere in my code but only posted the relevant part

come back and mark your original post as resolved if your problem is fixed
