Identifying phone tones.

Hello everyone,
I want that my modem will answer automatically when someone calls, and then if that person will dial the correct password he will have certain options. I don't know how to recognize the numbers that the person dials in his phone.

I think a modem cannot detect dial tones. It can only generate them. I looked into this question before and this was my conclusion base on various websites. The only other option is to use your sound card input. But I wouldn't try it unless you know what you are doing.
