Anyone use Brinkster?
Since Brinkster was mentioned on these forums, I signed up for an account with them last night to mess around with, and their servers were messed up for about an hour before I could access my site. Is this normal for them?

Get these: Mozilla Opera OpenBSD
I have books for sale: "MCSD in a Nutshell" and "VB Distributed Exam Cram" - PM me for details. Will also trade for a decent ATX Pentium 2 MB/CPU/RAM combo.

Not only is it normal but expect it to happen often. The premium service that they offer is much better and far more reliable. I have two accounts there, one free and the other premium. The main problem is the type of code being written that bogs down the free servers. The premium servers do not suffer from this. If you are just toying around or learning ASP I'd recommend putting up with the free servers but for anything that's serious the premium service is the best way to go.

I hate how the other servers/free hosting companies are too ignorant to go out and buy windows/iis instead of settle for Unix crap.
All contents of the above post that aren't somebody elses are mine, not the property of some media corporation.
(Just a heads-up)

If ur using windows theres a prgrom called 'PWS' or Personal Web Server. Where you use your computer as a server. If you dont have to much a relyable connection it would still be good for practicing your scripting. and be free of alot of the problems you get with free servers

That stinks. I'm gonna buy an account at Burlee sooner or later. I need a host for my personal web site. Maybe I could just buy a static IP address, and run everything from home.
