[RESOLVED] how to detect a located server
hi guys,
I need your help. I did a little research to find a source that would check the proxy server whether if the server is a located at government or fbi's server, but I couldn't find what I am looking for.
Any info would be much appreciate.
Thanks,
Mark

Don't bump your own topics within 4 hours. As for your question, it's a bit...unusual. What exactly are you trying to accomplish with your program and why is it important to know if a proxy is a government's or FBI's.

Re: how to detect a located server
I am sorry for bump, but I am depress of needs the answer. Well the real reason I want to know that if a proxy is a goverment's or FBI's is because I don't want myself or any of the clients to get hacking from them. So how can I find out if the proxy is government's or FBI's?
Thanks,
Mark

Re: how to detect a located server
Unless you do much to attract their attention (which is bad enough already), it's gonna be virtually impossible to stop them. I don't think you'll have to worry to much about that though, why would you think the Government or the FBI will be hacking your clients and/or system.

Re: how to detect a located server
That's okay. How about if it possible to detection the proxy whether if they are safe or dangerous to use?
For e.g. I check the proxy type which they are codeen and they are dangerous.
Hope there is a way to use it on vb.net.
Thanks,
Mark

Re: how to detect a located server
... what about just using trusted and well-known proxy servers?
Though trying to avoid government hacking makes it look like you're doing something illegal. I'm not saying you are, but it is a bit suspicious.

Re: how to detect a located server
yeah, but I want to scan the proxy to make sure they are safe to use and not dangerous. If they are dangerous to use, I want the program to alert me to displaying the messagebox then I would know they are not safe to use.
I am not doing something illegal, but want to keep myself safe while surf on the internet.
Hope you understand this.
Thanks,
Mark

Re: how to detect a located server
Well, there are lots of good, trusted proxies out there - find one that you know is good, and continue using it. After all, if you could tell that proxies couldn't be trusted in any simple way at all, they wouldn't be very effective.

Re: how to detect a located server
I know that they are plenty of proxies that are safe to use, but some isn't safe. That's why I want to check the proxy whether if they are dangerous to use and then to give me an warning.
I hope there is a source available for me to use it in VB.NET.
Thanks,
Mark

Re: how to detect a located server
Make a list of unsafe proxies or get one from somewhere and compare against the proxy you want to use. It's simple enough.
