Manual mode is not the same as a stick shift.

Re: [serious] Which's your car?
There are no requirements to know how to drive a stick shift car in order to be licensed to drive. As long as you pass your driving test in an automatic then they dont care what you drive as its the skill of knowing how to follow the rules of the road and not if you know how to drive all the types of transmissions.

I'm not even sure why 'driving stick' is considered a skill. What's there to know really. You go from first to fifth/sixth/seventh (how ever many you have), change up when revs get higher, press the clutch when changing. End of tutorial.

Needs pictures to complete the tutorial. Why not make a video tutorial?

I know a lot of people that can drive a manual shift. The group that does a good job... well it isn't the same number. A sure fired test is a STEEP hill.

There are several countries in the world, where an automatic tranny is considered a luxury item. I also believe that automatic trannies use a lot more gas than manual ones.

is it not a simple manual transmission with a clutch? (That's what I meant by manual mode) http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Manual_transmission

I believe this isn't true anymore, electronic systems are now very efficient. Also Pretty sure that ppl that are driving a car with manual transmission are pushing it to higher RPMs than necessary and use more gas actually.

Re: [serious] Which's your car?
Manual mode lets you change gears without having to press the clutch. It is called SPORTS mode in a lot of cars. There's no clutch, but you can simulate the feeling of driving a manual.
That's what I inferred from "manual mode".

My bad then, I used the wrong expression, I really meant Manual Transmission with the clutch

No idea how much a gallon is but a litre of unleaded petrol is about £1.19 at the moment (which is high for here) and diesel is about £1.21 a litre

1 gallon = 3.79 liters
So you pay 3.79 x 1.19 = £4.5101
which is US Dollars 7.31
Here on the East Coast, we are paying less than 3 dollars for a gallon of gas.
7.31 gives you 65 mpg.
2.65 gives 35 mpg
You do the math. I think it is about the same amount of money.

Not all of us, but you can't buy cars with that kind of gas mileage. Exactly why not isn't clear to me, but they aren't for sale anywhere.

2000 Honda Civic
Pros: Still runs with minimal maintenance.
Cons: Still runs so no valid reason to buy replacement.
2010 Toyota Innova
Pros: Best value for money in its class.
Cons: More obvious than a wedding ring.

Make sure you test out the brakes.
If you find the brakes don't work, no worry. The company has managed to fix that by making cars that don't move.

And while you're at it, also make sure the car goes in the direction you want to go (if it does indeed go).
