Re: How many teenaged programmers?
Hello, I'm 12 years old. Yeah i know that sounds very young but I've always wanted to learn everything that had to do with computers etc. When i was 9 years old i started learning batch and very very basic python and a game coding language called "SiMPLE", and from there on i wanted to make my on website, so i learned HTML and JavaScript and CSS, i then learned VBScript, and when i was 11 years old i had an interest of making a login system and then found a tutorial on youtube involving Visual basic so i went right ahead and downloaded it and learned it after a week of constantly making programs
Now my most preferred language is VB and it probably always will be.

You know what's funny, TechKid? You dug up a thread that was started when you were a baby.
It is so weird to think that this site is now older than some of its members. I wonder if my daughter will dig this thread up in another ten years.
Edit: Scrolling up, I see that I made a similar comment the last time this thread was dug up. I must be really getting old...

I'd explain my joke, but then it wouldn't be funny (although some may argue that it never was)

Meh, I'm 17 and have been programming since 15. Parental consent? What's that mumbojumbo? My parental consent:
Code:

Mom: Ok
Done.

When I started I was 16 and am 19 now. I only touched vb once or twice a month. But over the last year I've been programming a bit more due to university. VB still remains a hobby, but I have moved onto VB.NET. I am hoping to end up as a programmer in .NET and java.

Re: How many teenaged programmers?
I wrote my first program at the age of 7 in BASIC. It asked a series of questions liek "What is your name?", "What is your age?", then used PRINT to print the details on the screen and LPRINT to send them to the old dot matrix.
I think that BASIC was modula back then. You had to number all lines, usually in increments of 10 and every time you needed to edit a line you had to use the EDIT command along with the line number. The code was executed in order of line number, so if you needed to insert a line after no 10 you would use line 15.
