What I don't get is -- how does one could recover?
If the McAfee update caused the PC to reboot, how
would one manually overcome that? It seems like you'd
never have access to the computer -- an endless loop.

Also, this is just one more reason not to use McCrappy AntiVirus software.

techgnome are you doing ok. I noticed it said [tongue in cheek] twice. You aren't in any kind of distress are you from your tongue being stuck in your cheek.

I'm fine... clearly you're not... the first one opens the tag... the second one closes it... and that's how it was from the start. Perhapse you are seeing things (or not seeing things) due to your tongue being stuck in your cheek.
