I am sure i'm not the first and probably won't be the last to compile an exe that works just great and then inadvertantly delete the project!
Is there a way back to my source code? Is there light at the end of the tunnel?
constructive comments please

Have you looked in your Recycled folder?

If it's not in the recycling bin, what you need is
an undelete utility.
Go to www.recover98.com
If you delete something on the FAT32 or FAT16 or
NTFS file system, it can be recovered using this.
Get it and recover it as soon as possible. Otherwise,
you could permanety delete it.

Or are you after a decompiler?

The deleted files are beyond redemption as my hard disk has been reformatted at least once since then. Is there such a thing as a exe decompiler which puts it back into VB?

I seriously doubt it!
Otherwise ppl would be decompiling proprietary code all over the place!
If you feeel like writing a decompiler though ...
*grin*

decompiler
Unless you start studying hard assembler you haven't got a chance.
The only decompilers i know are for VB3 and VB4.
Sorry!...

Even if you reformatted your hardrive, you still have a
slight chace of getting it back. If i were you, I'd
at least give it a shot.
