    Hello!
How can i disable others to change attributes on a file in Windows 98. It has to work while my program is running. Is there any API or some tric to do it?
    Thank you!

You cannot directly stop someone from changing the attributes on a file in Win98.

The reason for this is that at its lowest level Win98 believes that because you are using the machine you are the big head honcho and deciding to change the attributes on a file means you know what you are doing.

Now it is possible to use a form of security with Windows (Moreso WinNT than 98) and by setting this security that restricts certain logins from modifying the file you are able to stop them from changing its attributes....

    There must be some trick

Thank you for answering my question, but...
I have a program called File Protector, so with it you can do many thing on your files, like: disable open, disable delete, invisible, disable change attributes etc. When I did disable change attributes on my file, and tried to change attributes on it a message appeared ".... Access denied..."
So I thing that there must be a way to set protection on files in Win98 but I can't find out the tricks to do it. Thank you anyway.
