.net and office XP
how come visual studio .net doesn't work with Frontpage XP? i kept on getting errors saying that it couldn't install without frontpage 2000. I edited a few logs, ini files, and stuff and got around the problem, but any idea why?

You want to use Frontpage ?!?!?!
Even if you didn't have .NET, there's no excuse, Frontpage is crap!

I will definetly agree with that! I made my site with Front Page
and i probably could of have done it without the help of Front
Page. To me all it really does is generate the html code for you, that's about it.

That's the idea behind Frontpage, only it writes 10,000 extra lines of unneccessary tag properties youdon't need. If it wrote the bear minimums, it might be 1/2 decent...

I also installed Frontpage 2002 (XP) and Visual Studio .NET. But there were no errors. Because i upgraded all the components (IE 5.5, SP1, etc) before installing .NET beta 1.
You'll need to find FP 2002 extensions. By the way for ASP.NET the visual studio .net ide looks better.

You need to run the Component Update CD before trying to install VS.NET
