Greetings.
From the MSDN website:
On an HTML page, your component's functionality is accessed through scripting, such as when events are handled through Visual Basic Scripting Edition (VBScript). For ActiveX controls, scripting is the only way to fully utilize the control's features in a browser.
My question: Can you fully utilize a VB ActiveX Control's features with Javascript or only with VBScript? If the answer to the first question is "only with VBScript", will a webpage with a VB ActiveX control (and VBScript) be fully functional if displayed in Netscape Communicator?
Yeah, I know, this should be in Internet Programming. I'll post it there too.
Thanks everyone.

Netscape doesn't currently support ActiveX or VBScript natively...which means you can't use Netscape to view a web page with ActiveX controls or VBScript (but I think you buy a 3rd party plugin for the VBScript).
It's been years since ActiveX became an open standard and still they just haven't clued in. No doubt this is a big reason Netscape has lost so much market share to IE. They have simply failed to keep up with the changing face of technology. Try running a serious corporate Intranet and Web Apps with Netscape...LOL!

Thanks...
Brent, thanks for the really good information.
But part of my question remains unanswered (and it's really important too!) So, I should definitely use VBScript in my Web app to deal with the ActiveX Control because I can't access its functionality with Javascript? Does anyone know the answer to this.
Thanks.
