Help with ASP

I am interested in getting into ASP or another language such as this. What would the differences be between say CGI, PHP, and ASP? Other than the fact that some are for linux/unix and windows. I started getting into CGI but decided to stop and move to ASP, is there really a big difference in these? Also, is there a website I can goto that will help me out with some ASP and furthur explain its benefits/ Thanks for your help.
