    Cool ...Surf Demon...

Being a fellow Scot, I thought you might appreciate this..

I was playing the Age of Empires II Trial today, and was struck by the [sarcasm]Astonishing Realism[/Sarcasm] of the Scottish accents! They were almost on a par with those used in Highlander!

Here is a .zip file containing a few choice Audio Files from the game (approx 826K):
    The File

Wonder who they got to do those voices??

Thanks, but I'll have to download it at home and listen to it. (My works p.c. has a sound-card, but no speakers.... it makes you wonder who orders these things??)

BTW have you played Need For Speed Highstakes. When you race the Scottish circuit and get caught by the cops he's got a great Glaswegian accent.

"Right Sonny Jim, If I catch you again you'll be riding home with me." Classic. If only the real cops were as forgiving for doing 150mph in a 30mph zone.

Mind you, can't be as bad as the Irish Accents of Tom Cruise and Nicole Kidman in Far and Away.

    Tee Hee Hee.

Try Merlly Streep (excuse my spelling) in "Evil Angels" trying to do a Trans Tasman accent. "The dingo's got my baby"...along with her oscar on that performance.

Or *shudder* Kevin Costner in "Robin Hood", 'I'm Robert of Lockley" in a broad California accent.

Or, and this is really weird, if you catch a few of those US soaps that have a Aussie in it he/she is always played by some git with an East End Accent. "I'm from Sydney Guv"

Yeah, Robin Hood was pretty amazing accent wise. One of the villagers is a Glaswegian "Look what you did!", and makes no attempt at hiding his accent. Apparently the American production staff must have thought he sounded like an English villager.....

Hmmm you are right, and those funny areas outside of California aren't really other US states. And the Countries outside of the USA ain't really countries, but a cyber world created by Pixar.

Once had a friend tell me in kiwiland that "Kiwis are the only people in the world without accents", unfortunatly he was being serious. He has since gone onto a rewarding career as a clerk in the Ministry of Ag & Fisheries,

Wow, the Scottish "accent" in those files is er... unusual. It sounds like grounds keeper willy????

Could they not have found one solitary scot who would have done the speaking for them??

And let's not forget Daphne in Frasier.

    Northern England accent my arse!
    Gentile or Jew,
O you who turn the wheel and look to windward,
Consider Phlebas, who was once handsome and tall as you...
