Problems with second sata drive
Hi All,
You will have to forgive me for this but hardware aint my thing.
I have an ASUS A8n-SLI deluxe motherboard and decided to add a secondsata drive.
I installed the drive, then booted up my machine.
Windows detected the new hardware and all seemed great until I opened My Computer and found that it was not there.
I had a look under device manager and it indicated that the second drive was there and working correctly.
I then rebooted again and checked the BIOS.
The bios had picked up the seconddrive as the second sata master.
Whats going on ?
Why can't I get to this new drive and why does XP say its there in device manager ?
TIA

Or, if it's properly initiated, can you see in disk management if Windows has designated a drive letter?
I code C#....

Re: Problems with second sata drive
You need to initialize and format the drive. Right-click on My Computer, choose Manage. Then click on Disk Management. You will see the new drive listed there. Just initialize and format it.
