I hope there is no visual difference in the display to that of IE7? I'm currently downloading IE 8 now.
Edit:
The pages load quickly for me! However, I think the forum could use an RC 1 makeover.
This post was made using IE 8 RC 1! It was a pain.

it will lock up like that if it has a javascript error. Try showing your page in compatibility mode. There should be a button next to the go arrow that looks like a broken pane of glass.

It's that button between the refresh button and the address bar shown in the above picture?

It also happens when I set the home page to about:blank ....
It takes over a minute before it unlocks and I can use it.

Anyway looks like you've encountered some kind of bug. Use firefox until the next patch for it comes out. Or even Chrome (although it doesn't have enough options for my taste)
Hmm, this is weird. When I run IE as administrator, it doesn't hang and is immediately ready for use.
That's weird! I knew you have to install the software on a computer using an admin account. However, after that the software should work correctly regardless of the account type.
I would do what Lord Orwell suggests! Firefox seems to run fine under the different type of accounts.
Edit:
When I get Win 7 setup I will test to see if I can access the sites correctly using a guest account.
Edit II:
Ok I'm using Internet Explorer 8 RC 1 browse the internet and each page loads within a couple of seconds each time, every time. I'm currently logged on to my pc in guest mode.
Scan you computer for malware and viruses then remove any that are found and run IE 8 RC 1 again.
Edit III:
IE8 uses yet another set of rules for the display (example):

I have disabled all plugins..
Firefox is already my default browser.
I just wanted to use IE 8 to test our web application.
(I also have Opera, Chrome and Safari installed)

you can't really expect the forums to support beta browsers. The fact is that ie8 breaks a lot of sites. That's why it has the "ie7 emulation" button that looks like a pane of glass broken. They are insinuating that any site it doesn't work with is the site's fault.

Mendhak said that for the forum to be able to viewed better in IE 8 VBulletin would have to be changed first.

In that case I beat you by 6 GB
Oh and if your wondering why the windows rating is not super high, its cos I've got a crap graphics card :P
but yeah... I'll shut up now.
IE 8 RC1 screwed my system up and was promptly uninstalled. After I installed it all my Windows Explorer windows would open folders in a new separate window instead of within the current window. I changed the folder options flag back and forth and it did nothing. Not to mention the fact that I was never able to load any webpage in IE without having to cancel the load and refresh the page first.
Either way, i won't be upgrading to IE 8 again...I'll stick with FF for now.
Please post some of the code you need help with (it makes it easier to help you)

Yeah, I reckon there several browsers which are better than Internet Explorer. However, since my chosen profession was web design I have to try the newer browsers even if they annoy the hell out of me.

Have you ever tried Opera? Seriously I was ready to hate it when someone suggested I try it but its so much better than any other browser I have ever used. Here's a few of the reasons why I love it:
1. Way faster than internet explorer and still a little faster than firefox
2. Completely customisable interface, you can download new skins from within the browser's menus so you dont have to go looking around on the web for them. And you can right click on pretty much ANY part of the UI and choose 'remove' and just that button or icon or whatever will dissapear. So you end up not having to have a load of buttons in your browser that you dont use.
3. Mouse gestures! So good. Lets say I want to go back a page, I just hold the right mouse button down and move the mouse to the left, then let go of the right mouse button and it takes me back a page. If I want to open a link in a new tab I just right click on the link and drag the mouse down and let go and it does it. If I want to open the link in a new tab but not switch to that new tab straight away, I right click on it and drag the mouse down then back up and let go and it opens the tab in the background.
4. Download manager built in, so if something you are downloading errors for whatever reason you can just resume it or restart it.
5. Speed Dial - you can set this 'speed dial' page as your start page so that when you open Opera you see a large thumbnail screen of each of your favourite websites so you can just click on whichever one you want to go to. More useful than it sounds.
There's loads more things but they are just the ones I can think of off the top of my head :P
I have downloaded IE8 and noticed that the pane of broken glass seen in the RC1 version pictured in post #2 is no longer there. Also, the newer IE8 version still displays the pages incorrectly see post #13!

lol! For the above pictured site it is suppose to be left out (post #13)! I just wanted to see if IE8 displayed the same as IE7 or not in the final release of IE8. However, it does not! I am going make the current website I am creating display correctly in IE8 thought.

Microsoft claim it was left in the latest release.
Compatibility View
Internet Explorer 8 is a new release and some websites may not yet be ready for Internet Explorer 8. Click the Compatibility View toolbar button to display the website as viewed in Internet Explorer 7, which will correct display problems like misaligned text, images, or text boxes. This option is on a per site basis and all other sites will continue to display with Internet Explorer 8 functionality. To go back to browsing with Internet Explorer 8 functionality on that site, simply click the Compatibility View button again.

I just found it tucked away under the "Tools" menu out of sight! You would think Microsoft could have left the button next the the address bar for easy access.
Edit:
The "Compatibility View" option remains greyed out even after I set the "Compatibility Settings".
