[RESOLVED] AVG Anti-Virus Free Edition
Hi all,
Is anyone of you using AVG Anti-Virus Free Edition? What I want to know is, can I update my virus definition free of charge there? I couldn't clearly find that's possible or not.
Thanks.

Yes, I found that page earlier.
No matter if you are using AVG Antivirus, Internet Security or another product, you are better protected with regular updates
So you say that AVG Antivirus means the free edition? Please clarify me on this.

I've used it (in the past) for years, they've always had a free edition and the updates are free.

Although, I remember reading on their site a while ago that their new version (8 I think) was not going to be free.

Yes, they have a free version with free updates. And also the newer version is 8.0. I'm going to try that..

I thought the free version was no longer available because version 8 was coming out! If the paid version and free version are both available then that would not make much sense because a lot of people would just use the "free" version. That is unless the "paid" version has extra features used for business, etc.

On the official web site it's not mentioned. And also I don't think it's happen for a long. Because for the business use the features are not sufficient.

Now only the Antivirus is free (for home use).
The total security solution is paid.
