freeSSHd/freeFTPd projects closing
If anyone ever has the need for a Windows SSH server and doesn't like crudding up their systems with Cygwin you might want to grab freeSSHd.
The project will be closing due to effort, time constraints, etc. What a shame.
There is a companion freeware product freeFTPd as well (FTP/FTPS/SFTP). It also appears to be shutting down.
freeSSHd is a great way to maintain secure remote access to offsite machines via PuTTY and the like. It also supports Telnet and SFTP though isn't as robust as an FTP server as freeFTPd is. And don't forget SSH tunneling for secure access using your general TCP/IP programs.
