CMS, Joomla,,, DIY,,, so many options!
I am a programmer in my day job, however looking to expand my knowledge outside of work. Digging a little more into web programming and the new technologies.
Recently I got some webhosting and they obviously have some of the installers for some great apps dotnetnuke, joomla,, etc. you know them all.
With the rapid development with CMS programs and similiar I wonder if its worth my time to build a site from ground up.
So my question is how many of you if you were to build a website for a customer do you use the CMS projects? I mean they have the ability for the end user to edit content and keep things updated without pulling out an html editor or visual studio.
So are you using these CMS in paid projects?
Maybe you understand where i am leading with this question, I start thinking why reinvent the wheel etc etc.
Insight?

I've used Xoops, Joomla, PMachine, and (as a user) PHPNuke (and it's cousin ASPNuke) ... they all have their strengths, and their weaknesses... it just depends on the needs.
