Where to find good reliable coders? -_-

i need to find good reliable coders for several projects for my network. Ive tried this place and no one seemed interested. ;\

My network consist of IM features with Chatting with MIRC like features, and non mud text based games similar to what you will play threw a web browser. I need to find more programmers to develop different styles of games. I even offered money!!

After a search I see that you have offered money.. but as it was just "up to $150" for the code files of a complete game, very few people will be interested.

The payment is far below what people could get for other work that would take a similar amount of time - even if you only deal with people from places like India (where living costs/wages are about 10% of most people on this site).

As such you are limiting yourself to people who program for a hobby, and so they are very unlikely to have the reliability and skills of people who do it for a living. They are also more likely to want to do things that they enjoy, rather than things to help you build up your site (which presumably you will make money from).

Getting anybody interested will be difficult, and to be honest I don't think you will do any better than you already have.

In order to have someone work on this you would basically have to offer them some form of a share of the total profits. Even then your chances of finding someone are pretty slim due to the fact that there is know way to ensure agreements are honored without hiring a lawyer.

Why not do open source like your slim chat?
To be honest, if you are needing to keep it secure then you will be needing to pay way more then what you offered if looking for programmers in the USA. I make that amount in less then 2 hours of work to give you an idea of professional rates. since its a game the open source idea may really work out much better as other programmers/gamers could take part of its development and want to play it too since its partly their creation.

Exactly. Add another 0 or two to that price and you will attract good reliable coders.

and think of it this way. "Generally" if you spend more hours/money you will get better and more complete results. given you check references or get submissions of past work to see their level of skill is up to your expectations
