Change command windows title based on str parameter
Hi
I am writing some scripts and I would like to be able to title the command window based on a string in the script? Is this possible?
Example
I am calling the script from a batch file. the VB script points to a HTML page for the user to fill out some information for the str parameters in the script like the one below.
strServer = objExplorer.Document.Body.All.server.Value
I then want to take that information and apply it to the title of the command window
Set objShell = CreateObject("Wscript.Shell")
objShell.Run ("%comspec% /k title strServer " & strCMD)
So that my command windows is the same name as the server I am trying to run the strCMD string against.
any ideas?
Thanks
Ron

Re: Change command windows title based on str parameter
i don't believe you can change the caption of a dosbox window, the default caption is the comspec enviroment string
i expect it would be possible using apis
i do my best to test code works before i post it, but sometimes am unable to do so for some reason, and usually say so if this is the case.
Note code snippets posted are just that and do not include error handling that is required in real world applications, but avoid On Error Resume Next
dim all variables as required as often i have done so elsewhere in my code but only posted the relevant part
come back and mark your original post as resolved if your problem is fixed
