    Resolved [RESOLVED] Pop-ups?

Is it just me or has something changed recently?

Very occasionally, when clicking on a Forum to view, a Pop-up window appears with sme sort of Advert or an invitation to take part in some sort of survey. It started yesterday and doesn't happen on any other Forums / pages I visit.

Just www.xtremevbtalk.com, in one tab and this site in another. (IE7)

I've not seen it appear in the vbtalk tab (and I'm as active there as I am here), just this one, and when I've clicked on a link to a Forum (eg "Visual Basic 6 and Earlier"). It's happened twice now, once yesterday, and once this morning.

The QuestionMarket survey popups appear once every blue moon. Click the 'Yes' button to enter the survey and then dismiss them and you should not get them again.

Every now and then, one of the advertisors on this site will embed a survey into their ad. This is something we can't really conrol because it comes from the advertisors ad server and not ours. The easiest thing to do is what was suggested already - click into it. That will create a cookie that should stop you from getting it from that advertisor again.

Whenever I am plagued by a pop-under survey I always take the survey leaving everything blank that I can other than the "other comments" or other semi-appropriate box, and answer something like "Pop-unders like this survey are annoying and I will never by any products from advertisers who use them".

I just have the popup blocker option checked in my IE and it prevents that stupid question market ad from poping up completely

Yeah, but that is no fun Rob. With Martin's way you get to mess with them a little bit.

Yes but they also look at the number of surveys submitted and even with messing with them that just increases their numbers to make them think its still a good return result and tokeep spamming us with popups.
