Is it possible to use the Winsock for these jobs

Hi,

I would like to use the Winsock control to send command to a web server..to

a. create directories on a server
b. Send a file to a web server.
c. Delete directories

All the above actions are possible in the Internet Transfer Control. But can the winsock be used instead
