Silverlight
Ok I'm developing a website which was going to be .Net with a flash core but I'm very interested in Silverlight.
Can anyone just give me some info, have you used it? Comparisons to flash? Good points? bad points?
I'm interested in what developer experiences are I know where to find all the documentation.
Thanks

Re: Silverlight
I've trialed Silverlight a bit, you might be able to do this at www.popfly.ms
Silverlight allows you to do more, in the sense that with Silverlight, you are making use of the Windows Presentation Foundation. However, the only drawback is that not all users have it, as Flash is more widespread at the time. If your userbase will be willing to install Silverlight, have a look at it, and try it out first before you commit to it in the project.
My own experience wasn't that great, as the applications kept crashing and wouldn't work, but I really think that was a huge coincidence, as I am known to have such strings of events occur to me.

Re: Silverlight
From articles i have read it appears that SilverLight solves a lot of problems that were in Flash. Plus it supports WPF and you don't need a new IDE just use your Visual Studio IDE
Not to sure you might need to read up on this but Silverlight has a lot more support for Video and Audio.
Also don't be deterred from it though when you here people saying "oh but it doesn't run on linux" you will always get someone saying that

The users this site is targeted would not be running linux, So thats not a problem.
Thanks for the views so far.

Re: Silverlight
Well It will be very interesting to see what your views on it are. I've decided to hold off and do it in flash and .Net until silverlight is a little more established.
Thanks
