career advice needed
Hello,
Currently I am into PHP/MySQL. Now I want to learn a new language, and zeroed in on perl. One thing to keep in mind is that , right now I am fit for telecommute positions only. I am interested in C/C++, but not sure if I can get telecommute positions in that.
What would you suggest that would add to my existing knowledge base, compliment and supplement, or whatever it is called.
Thank you.

Re: career advice needed
That would depend on the direction you want to go.
Are you interested in web apps and only web apps?
Database work or no?

Desktop or web applicatons, anything will do. Design is sort of no, no. I don't have an affinity or dislike for database work. If it is needed I will do it, but not the extent of becoming a DBA.

Most database programmers are not DBAs, but they do work very closely with them.
I would look into VB.NET (you can download the express version for free from Micrsoft's site) and C# (also express version is free)
