I need to create an client application which can update a remote server's database, can anyone point me in the right direction.

Should I be looking to run a separate application(say a VB app) on the server or creating an IIS application or post to asp scripts on the server from the clientside application?

Should I use Winsock?

Enviro: Server = NT4, IIS4 Client = Win95/98/ME
