I just attempted to perform a search where one of three words was "api" and I got the following error
The search term you specified (api) is under the minimum word length (4) and therefore will not be found. Please make this term longer.
and the search failed. Why the minimum llimit? At least the serach should ignore the short word and complete OK.

I got the same problem, and it's really bothering me. I am trying to find information on pressing tab, but tab is too short. Can you fix this John?

I'm just repeating MidgetsBro, but I had the same problem too. And anyways, is it their problem if we give too short words to the engine and it gives us a whole bunch of stuff that has nothing to do with the thing we were searching for...

Martin, I knew that. I was one of the people complaining on some of the other posts about that I know he wouldn't stop people from using the search function right after he implemented it again, unless he was trying to relieve the server load.

The Word limit is because..some Prankster
    might just put " a AND e AND i AND o " etc...
That will sure return the whole of the forum.
So actually that is a good Idea.

But unfortunately There will be problems if you do
search for three lettered and two lettered words.
But in most cases you can search indirectly by using
a word greater than 3 chars that you would associate with the required word.

Good idea alert!! Why not have a list of allowed 3-letter words (like "ADO", "DAO", "SQL" whatever) John, rather than just blindly dissallowing them?

Couldn't it be reduced to two? And I would argue that searching for the word API wouldn't return the whole forum, since it would (wouldn't it?) only match if the post contained " API ", "API" would not be returned as a match.

I was also trying to search "ip address"

    John,
Maybe allow us to search just the thread/post titles? or maybe threads that have attachments etc.
