crystal report query question

hi all,

i'm using the crystal report that came with visual studio 2005 to make crystal report documents.

what i want to do is to make the reports external from my application. my application just calls and loads the reports.

my question is, is there a way to create a query within a crystal report document itself? i noticed that on the .rpt file i created that it connects to the dataset i created in my application... if possible, i want to create the report its own query and not based it from the dataset.

is this possible?

Read the CR in VB.NET at my signature. I show the way there so you can pass the query in the crystal report.
