    EU socialists attack

Microsoft has been robbed of its private investment returns:

So, MS offered their OS with a media player - oh lord no! Will the EU go after Apple since they bundled QuickTime player on their OS?

Nope - the EU will be going after Apple for their iPod/iTunes monopoly soon enough!

Apple's closed iPod/iTunes music ecosystem that restricts users to play iTunes’ songs in any player other than iPods has been facing much criticism from several European countries that are urging gaming console manufacturer to make its iTunes interoperable.
    [...]
Apple’s revolutionary gaming console iPod cannot play DRM-laden songs purchased from rival online music stores and FairPlay. Similarly, Apple's DRM prevents users from playing songs they've bought from the iTunes Music Store on other music players.

Maybe I am missing something, but since when was the iPod a gaming console?

Lol, will MS have to get rid of note-pad and calculator too? It's the same argument.

MS at some point will have to offer the option to just sell the Kernel, buy the Command LIne parser, and GUI seperately!

It highlights the technological competence of the commission, so every company which deals with it understands they have little to no hope.

Yea apple is pretty much the biggest ******* about being a monopoly out there.

Their iTunes music doesn't play on anything except their iTunes player on the computer, and the iPod. I bought an obscure album from their iTunes store, I had to literally burn the music to wav on CD, then rerip it to mp3 because they are such *******es about keeping their properitery music format.

Their iPod don't play non-Apple video formats either as far as I could tell.

With Microsoft, yes they try to push out competitators, but they do it by giving stuff away for free. They've done it with IE 7, Windows Media Player, and Virtual PC. Also their software is generally more open to accepting non-propertary formats and software.

Restrictions like that is what signs the deal with the record companies. The media publishers don't want to offer licenses so people can make unlimited copies, so they agree to these closed formats as it mostly guarantees the number of duplications that can be made -and onto what devices.

Damn right they aren't, Steve Jobs came over looking to buy Park Place off me so he could complete that monopoly, but I turned him down... that Gates though, sure is a smooth talker, bought North Carolina and Pennsylvania from me!

Not in my version of Monopoly, nor do I know my England, but I have never really thought of Liverpool as being desirable property...may just be the name, though, it's so evocative.

Liverpool St is a street in London, in the heart of the financial district. I work about 2 mins walk from there. It's very expensive.
    I use VB 6, VB.Net 2003 and Office 2010

    Code:
Excel Graphing | Excel Timer | Excel Tips and Tricks | Add controls in Office | Data tables in Excel | Gaussian random number distribution (VB6/VBA,VB.Net) | Coordinates, Vectors and 3D volumes
