Resolved [RESOLVED] Check my answer, thanks! =)

It is given that y varies inversely as x and y=20 when x=40

    a) if x increased by 50%, find the percentage change in y.

I have worked out the solution, my answer is 33.3...%, is that correct?
I really want to do well in maths. Please help and tolerate my stupidness.

Your solution is correct... except that it's a decrease, so it requires a minus sign: -33.333...%

...and you don't even need to know that y=20 when x=40, it's irrelevant.

ye, krtxmrtz is right. If your parameters are inversely combined on each other, there should be a - sign. Because one parameter is increasing the other related parameter should be decrease.
