    how set read write permissions in pws
    I can't see anything obvious that will do this
    i can set read execute permissions but i am not able to set write permissions

    On the View menu choose Advanced
    Once there, you can allow Directory Browsing, which is a type of permission.

    Click the item under Virtual Directories for which you want to set permissions and then click the Edit Properties button.

    Viola!

    but does this allows the user to write to the directory

    please let me know if this procedure gives write permissions

    Don't think PWS supports this.

    You mean like Netscape web servers do? (You can publish to them from Netscape Composer)

    Get yourself a nice FTP server instead...trust me...once you get it running and figure it out properly, this is a really COOL server!!
