Display full file name on File menu in Office

Is there a way to increase the width of the File menu in Excel to show the full filename?

At the moment, in a lot of cases, I find the name is truncated (maybe my filenames are too long ), so I have to guess which file is which, if I am to open it from there (which I do tend to do).

I imagine there must be a way to either make it a fixed width (as for Comboboxes), or even a variable width matching the longest item.

    Thank you

No, I dont believe there is a way to widen the file menu very easily. The paths are compacted (shows an elipse in the middle) in order to fit the fixed with. You could read the MRU location for the office app in question to see which file is which as the registry stores the mru information and complete paths.
