[RESOLVED] What version of VB.net is this
With regards to applying for a course at a local collage that are doing VB.net. When i asked what version they use 2003 or 2005 this is the response i got!
Good afternoon. The version we have is numbered 7306 but there is no year on it. It is however the up to date version. I think they change quite often so really you have to study fairly quickly and get the exam done as soon as you can.
Any ideas on what version this is?
EDIT: Ive decided to steer clear of this place after some very bad press reviews!

Re: What version of VB.net is this
I think the number they gave you is meaningless.... Running VS2005 Team Edition... I get 8.0.507272.867.... so I don't know where they think they got that number from.
I'm a little concerned that they don't really know what version they have... and they plan to teach it.... There were a number of differences betweeen 2003 and 2005, mostly in the FW itself (as it went from 1.1 to 2.0) but also in the IDE as well.

Well it could be that the person dealing with customer service doesnt know but that wouldnt necessarily mean that the teachers wouldnt know. I would be skepticle too but if there arent too many choices out there in your area then I would ask someone else in the school.
I have the same version as TG so I would know if that is a build number or or their internal id number for who knows what lol.

The thing that is bugging me is it took five days for the email reply so im presuming she talked to the teacher. Also the "You better enrol fast" line made me think there more concernd about getting money from me than anything else

Yes, they shouldnt be pressuring you. Sounds like they are desperate for students/money. Better to keep looking. Usually they will take you on a guided campus tour showing you what they have to offer you before they pressure you to register

Re: [RESOLVED] What version of VB.net is this
Ive got two years (have to be 23) until i can apply as a mature student to a national college, i think il wait! A friend of mine went to Dundalk Uni and said the staff were so helpful, alot of "after school" meetings etc. They also give a campus tour and have an online forum for each course moderated by the lecturers. I Think thats the way to go!
