Hello all...
I have been working on a Napster type client for some time now. But unlike napster, it's smart. Most File Swapping programs use a central server. That means that if the server is flooded with people, your downloading experience can be slow.
With Yapz! there is a central server, but, instead, once connected to it, you are re-directed to a "Mini Server". The main server hosts all the Mini Servers, the Mini Servers host the clients. This helps take the load off the central server.
Now, this service is very stable and secure. All passwords are kept in the Main Server's database. Data transfering between nodes use HEX error correction.
The main server is almost fully functional, the Mini Server is about half-way done, and the client is at like 10%. But that's not the point.
I need BETA TESTERS! for the Mini Servers, and soon the actual clients.
I want to get about 30 Mini Servers up and see what it does to the Server. If the load will lock it up and what not.
Anyone who is interested, reply here, or email me at [email protected]
Also check my website for more info!
Thanx everyone!
