My PC's don't get like that.

The only reason a spider would build webs in there would be if other insects were routinely passing through there (ants for example).

Sounds like your customer has an insect infestation problem. When they come to pick it up, you should tell them to consider having an inspection done (if they aren't already complacently aware).

Sucks for you - because now you have more spiders in your house.

Take it one step further and frag it now.

Your user probably has a clogged CPU heat sink.

Take off the CPU Fan, clean out the dust near the CPU with a qtip and hydrogen peroxide.

That should fix the problem.

It was being repaired for a totally unrealted issue. I just tend to open up the PCs to clean them out if they are really dirty. This one just happened to be REALLY dirty.

Which web browser did you use to find the spider?

By the way, that amount of web would take a spider all of about an hour to create. After that it collected dust from years of ventilation. Therefore, you needn't worry about insect infestation. A single spider thought they had a good thing going, wandered about building a half-assed web, then stepped into the CPU fan and became puree. No insects needed to be present for any of that to happen. Also, I'm guessing about the demise of the spider, but this is the age of Hollywood, so a gruesome, theoretical, dismemberment is about right.

Thats wrong shaggy, the spider was surking his web when he got a phone call from Jill, his girlfriend spider, needles to say the male spider got lucky, then seriously unlucky, after Jill ate him post intercourse.

for the spider to build a web in the pc there must have been a payoff for it... i wonder how many other insects were living in there too maybe you need to send that pc to a pest control guy?

Once, I did some work on my computer, and put my side panel back on. A couple weeks later I smelled something weird, and opened it up. I found a half empty carton of chocolate milk....

I've got a DELL server that I never want to open - it came from the factory - it works - I'm afraid that if I do anything other than watch it from a distance that it won't boot again...

I found dried orange juice on one of my memory chips. No idea how it got there. I don't drink orange juice. Guess the spider was thirsty. Computer was randomly resetting. I cleaned off the dried juice and computer is back to normal. And i can assure you no spiders in my case now. I keep it open for a daily tinkering/inspection. The side only goes on when i have guests.

Kleinma I can't beleive you let your PC get infested with spiders like that. As soon as I see a spider it is dead, nevermind in my PC. Saying that though.. my 1996 dell poweredge 4400 meter long thing is probably a hive of tarantulas.
