Query: Programming to use an Ethernet Card...

I've never done this before, but what is the methodology of sending information through a VB app over an ethernet network? Basically I have a Windows machin (that the VB app will be running on) and a few non-PC machine controllers that have ethernet on them. All the controllers will be receiving are a few bits at a time, so traffic on this network will not be very high. Is there some built in functions that I'm just not seeing? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I'm not sure how much help I could be, but I did a little search on deja and found someone with a similar, but slightly more complex problem, he seems to have found out how to do it, he's using a vb program to call a C++ .dll file and then querying a mac, maybe he can help you, here's his address: [email protected]
