Resolved [RESOLVED] VS2003 to VS2005 on Win CE 4.2

    Hi,
I have written several VB .NET apps to run on handheld scanners that run Win CE 4.2 as the OS. Theses were all written using VS 2003. I deploy by creating CAB files in VS, moving them to the proper folder, and double clicking them.
I have now moved to VS 2005. If I convert my VS 2003 apps to VS 2005, when I deploy them to the scanners, will I have trouble?

    Thanks,
    Steve

    Hi,
shouldn't be a problem - what are your main concerns?

I guess my main concerns are if I need to load anything else onto the scanners to run the apps created with VS2005. I had to load .NET 2 on my laptop to run the windows based apps, which was no problem, but I haven't loaded any kind of softare or anything on the scanners other than dropping my CAB files on via activesync. I will need to do it at the customers one at a time as the scanners are taken out of service. I don't want to get there, and start having lots of problems. I guess if I did with the first one I could drop the old CAB back on.
    Thanks,
    Steve

FYI on this. I contacted the manufacturer of the scanners to see if it would be OK to get the 2.0 framework on the wince 4.2 devices. They told me they have been unable to determine if it is possible, and for me to wait until they say it is OK.
