    Re: Windows Vista

Aeroglass is not an ActiveX control or program. Its a theme that is only available on Vista. You can google search for similar themes for XP but they are not exact.

As per the PM, AeroGlass is only available on Vista and then also only if your video card supports DirectX 9.0 and above.

As per my quote, AeroGlass is a Vista only theme. You can find other copycat xp themes but aero uses Vista's Desktop Window Manager (dwmapi.dll) which only runs on VISTA.

Again, you can not use dwmapi.dll on a form or in any other OS other then Vista.
It is not a control at all. The projects attached: one runs using the theme API call so you wont get aero on it without running on Vista. Two, has some issues with it as it didnt run correctly on my Vista system. Had drawing issues and such.

Bottom line, either do all the drawing yourself using GDI APIs or search for some third party product or skin. Other then those two, you need to have Vista.

Ok, as you know i am not good at design or coding. It would help me if u could help to find a sample GDI API one.

That is really allot of coding to do. I dont have that kind of time. A google search should aid you in your search. Perhaps you may want to look into a professional third party control or skinner. They are not free but if you are in a hurry and need something that actually works.

Yeah, a 3rd party would be great. However does the 3rd party skins can give me an idea to make it looks like the real vista??

Well as time goes on more and more third part controls/skins will appear. Just a matter of searching and deciding on one you like.

That is up to you. I have no idea what ecactly you want or the price levels you want to pay. Come on you need to put some kind of effort into your own google search. Trty "Vista", "Aero", "Glass", and/or "Skin" etc.

Just because you want something does not mean it exists either You just need to keep searching and if you dont find anything perhaps try again in a few months.

Mate please don't bump your threads like that, it's extremely rude.

How about you have a crack at searching for this stuff on Google.

I think it's a bad idea to impose a Vista theme on people that aren't using Vista anyway.

If you're running it why do you need to find it?

Also by "crack" I meant "have a go" as in have a go at searching yourself. Actual cracks/hacks are not topics to be discussed on VBForums.

Perhaps, but it still won't be to the same effect as actual glass!
