[RESOLVED] asp.net with windows xp question
hello.
i would like to know if i'm able to run asp.net on a computer with windows xp home.
i've been told by someone that i need xp proffesional since home doesnt have IIS.
is this true?

It's better if you have IIS on your developement machine but I believe you can run asp.net 2.0 without it - NOT asp.net 1.1. Have a look at the system requirements for the software i.e. VS2005 or visual web express.

There are some web servers such as Cassini which allow you to run ASP.NET 1.1. However, it isn't worth the hassle and I would strongly recommend Windows XP Professional, or better, Windows 2003.
