Re: how to delete thread
You can delete your threads only in ChitChat forum.

Re: how to delete thread
Correct on all of the above.
If you create a thread that you want deleted, either:
1. Send a PM to the section Mod asking them to delete it.
2. Change the thread title to "Please Delete Me"

It has been a while.
When you delete a thread, all posts in that thread are also deleted (an obvious statement). When a post is deleted, the posting members post count is decreased.
We received compliants from people that lost post counts because threads were deleted by the member that created the thread, so, the ability to delete a thread, with the exception of Chit Chat, was removed for members.
Outside of Chit Chat, only Mods can delete an entire thread.

Re: [RESOLVED] how to delete thread
Just to add a little more.. there was a second reason too.
Some people think that just because they have their problem solved, the thread should be deleted.
Doing that would mean someone else with the same problem can't see the solution when they search for it, so they have to re-ask the same question (and those of us who answer have to re-post our answers, rather than just linking to the previous solution).

You ask a mod. There is rarely a time a post needs deleted.
We've had trouble with people deleting questions after they were answered for the simple reason that they then had their answer. This meant others couldn't benefit from the discussions. As such, we've set it to where a mod is needed to delete a thread.
If a thread needs deleted and you select the Report this post icon, then chances are it will be addressed quickly.
Brad!

If you mean 'post' and not 'thread', click the Edit button to the bottom right corner of the post, and as long as it is not the first post in the thread, you will get the option to delete it.

Re: [RESOLVED] how to delete thread
If you read Brad's explanation in Post #9, then I think it becomes more clear why the ability to delete individual posts is not available.
