Automated DTR System (Daily time Record) VB6 Expert

Hello guys,

I'm kinda noob to this system and i really really need your help for making my project... im 15yo and still learning some programming stuffs like vb6, C++, Java, perl etc...

I'm planning to make an Automated Daily Time Record system for our school and i dunno where to start... and i really can't do it all by myself... i know it sounds kinda easy for experts but i really don't know how to make one so please help me with my project... just start making a simple one and i'll be the one to improve the system... thanks a lot... greatly appreciated...

It is a program that can record the date and the time-in and time-out of faculties and staffs in our school... it also has a database of faculties and staffs... a form where in you can see the members and the time records... thanks in advance... hope you can help me with this... Godbless you all!

What's going to drive the time in/time out? A time clock? Connected to the computer how? Or is the user just going to click on "in" and "out" buttons?

In either case you'll need a database and a form with a grid of some sort to show the data and, if the user punches in and out manually, some buttons to do that or, if it's a time clock, an interface to the clock.

It's a good learning experience for you. Start laying it out, writing the parts you can handle, then post anything you get stuck on in the Classic Visual Basic or Database (as appropriate) forum.

You have to click on time-in/out command buttons to capture the time and shows the time clock in the form and the calendar. and when the employee punches in it automatically capture the date and time. just the same as the manual DTR that uses a punching machine.. and of course it has its own db of employee and it keeps record in log.text as a backup

I'm going to make the form but i cannot write the codes yet coz i'm still trying to study the interface of the program... i'l post this thread in the Visual Basic Classic and attach my files there.. thnx alot..greatly appreciated
