Unhappy Does MS-SQL 2000 run with Windows XP data server and clients?

I am using Windows XP SP2 and whenever I install MS-SQL 2000 on my computer it shows the following message. I have Windows XP on all clients as well.

"Microsoft SQL Server 2000 Enterprise Edition Server component is not supported on this Operating System. Only client components will be available for installation"

It installs the whole software but I could not see any connection in Enterprise Manager. I was using MS-Access previously, but for some reason I have to switch over MS-SQL 2000.

Dear GURUS, please help me out what should I supposed to do????

i love VB more than BV(means wife in our language)

Standard and Enterprise Editions of SQL Server 2000 must be run on a Windows Server operating system.

The only full featured edition you can install on a Windows desktop OS is SQL Server Developer Edition.
