My name is Zeeshan.I start learning Java language by myself without any teacher.I want to do some practical work in Java.Like assignment and Projects.I know the basics and i am also learning it.Kinldy guide me about any book,website and procedures how i will be good in JAVA.Waiting for ur Response.

The tutorial on Sun's site is hard to beat. As for assignments, you can find plenty of them on the internet. Find an assignment and work on it until you finish. Try solving the problem yourself before resorting to a forum and when you're finished, look at how you could improve on what you just did. etc, etc and etc.

Exactly. This is the best answer for your question. As he said solve many as much as you can. Don't worry about there simplicity or hard. Try it. Work on forums, like this. If you want you can work on the Sun's Java Developer Forum as well.
