    Cool

It's very cool that it isn't (i just downloaded some Chemical Brothers stuff), but I thought Napster had 72 hours from the beginning of the week to prevent copyrighted material being copied. It's working as well as ever...

They had 72 hours to implement protection...they said that they'd only block music that the record companies could prove they own...which will take longer than 72 hours

How long does it take to prove they own something...

Sony/EMI/other geezer - "This band is signed with us."
Judge - "Oh okay, well proved."
    Napster - "Damn"

They're method of doing it is really dodgy though. They couldn't block every possible permiatation of a name, and how symbols could be used for letters, like $p1(e Gir1$ (that is obviously Spice Girls)

True, but how do you do a search that finds "$p1(e Gir1$ " ?
