I have the screen to my laptop extended to a small plasma tv but the sound wont play on the tv's speakers. Any ideas?

Re: Multiple screens
Funny you would think that the sound would travel through the monitor cable would be nice if it worked that way!
You need to jack the audio output into the TV somehow. Problem might be that usually the output on a laptop for audio is low-power - and you need to find a line-in jack on the TV - as opposed to speaker-inputs.

Nope - s-video has 4 pins and they are all video signals.
Today, S-Video signals are generally connected using 4 pin mini-DIN connectors using a 75 ohm termination impedance.
